Spring into Toronto for Wavelength 2026

Will McGuirk March 16, 2026

By Will McGuirk

Wavelength Music Festival + Conference 2026 kicks off on the equinox, with a multi-venue, multi-genre, multi-fun line-up of music, art and talk Thursday Mar 19 thru Saturday Mar 21. A line-up which includes international as well as Canadian acts as well as quite the coup, Melissa Auf der Maur, (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins), who will be launching her rock ‘n roll memoir, ‘Even the Good Girls Will Cry’, with a DJ set at the Art Gallery of Ontario as well as a reading at St. Annes, 651 Dufferin St. And for us in the D-Rock, Brookin-linked Burs is on the list too.

Wavelength began in the heady Torontopia days of the 00s when indie movers were shaking up the Canadian music world and inspiring others to start up their scenes. Got my motor running for sure. Mostly it was all east of the former centre of the world on Queen. Ossington, Trinity Bellwoods, Dovercourt were epicentres. Great stuff, fab folks, still doing the work and good to see them still at it. And for those wanting more I’d recommend this book by the Wavelength Artistic and Executive Director Jonny Dovercourt.
