Skydiggers celebrate forty years with 'West Montrose' out June 5

Like the little train that could the Skydiggers have been chugging along for forty years with their genteel take on alt-country. They celebrate with the release this week of a new album titled ‘Westmontrose’,mixing it up with originals and reimagined covers of songs by Buddy Holly, Steve Earle, and Peter Cash among others. It’s an eclectic mix, (track list below), and they have released ‘Blue Railroad Train’ a Delmore Brothers track from 1930 and featuring Jimmy Bowskill on tenor guitar. The band have also started a podcast ‘Employee of the Myth’ and on the latest episode they discuss Side A of this new album. Listen here.
