Grievous Angels led by the venerable Charlie Angus release their tenth album, ‘Revolution’ so raspberries to those who think Angus is just ex-L’Estranger, the band he formed with Andrew Cash in the early 1980s or NDP MP for 20 years in northern Ontario, well yes to all that, but also ten albums as the Grievous Angels and this one is right on the money for the times, and so is the latest single ‘In The Time of Monsters’ - a quick scan of the news and one can see those hulking black shadows looming in every headline, the track evokes some Violent Femmes’ ‘Hallowed Ground’ vibrations. The new album features artwork by Ron Hawkins of Lowest of the Low and duets with Andy Maize of the Skydiggers so yah tradition in roots in action.
