This year the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame will induct the Tragically Hip, Feist, Roch Voisine, as well as Mike Reno and Paul Dean of Loverboy, at the ceremony to take place at Massey Hall in Toronto Sept 26 2026.
Boi-1da
Durham Region based superstar producer JUNO and Grammy winner Boi-1da will be among the featured performers and presenters. Those include, among others, Jeff Tweedy, FINNEAS, Our Lady Peace, Allison Russell, Amanda Marshall, TALK, and Sebastian Gaskin.
While what Boi-1da will be doing on the day is unknown to me at present, he was involved in the recent remix of the Hip’s ‘Ahead By a Century’, for the Canadian Soccer Team at the recent World Cup which Canada co-hosted. Soooo . . .
The 2026 honourees will be inducted by two-time Academy Award-winning songwriter FINNEAS; The Kids in the Hall co-founder Bruce McCulloch; actor and filmmaker Jay Baruchel; 2022 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Jim Vallance, who holds the record with four JUNO Songwriter of the Year wins; and Olympic gold medalists in women’s hockey Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey.
