Jane Eccles’ “In These Threads” and Ron Benner’s “Trans/mission: Barley-Corn-Maize” both open Jan 20, 2019 at the Visual Arts Centre in Bowmanville.

Eccles’ exhibit is a series of paintings of dresses worn by a variety of women, including Margaret Atwood, while Benner’s is inspired by the history of the gallery location itself, a mill and producer of barley.

The opening reception for “Trans/mission” takes place Sunday, Jan 20 between 2 and 4 p.m.

On Saturday, Mar 9, at 11 a.m. Jane Eccles will present the stories of the dresses at the VAC at 11 and afterwards participants are invited to attend a performance by musician Anne Walker at the Clarington Museums and Archive.
