William Prince’s latest album is ‘Further From the Country’ and available on Six Shooter Records. It’s been a journey of Further for Prince, member of Peguis First Nation, since he first stepped on to the stage of national reknown. As an artist he seemed to step out fully complete but of course years and years of work go into overnight success and as he continues to get better at each stage its proof the work is the work and the work is working. I spoke with William one time at Hillside and he shared with me the importance of Winnipeg based troubadour Scott Nolan to him professionally and personally - I know Nolan via Transistor66 records. William Prince just closed out his present tour with a show at the city’s Centennial Concert Hall Saturday past Apr 25 2026. I don’t know of course if Scott was present at that gig but just the idea of that movement from Scott’s mentorship to Junos, to a John Prine Songwriter Fellowship, to Newport and Massey Hall, and Centennial, well, it is just kinda a good feeling to know talent can triumph. Anyway here’s the new single from William, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. See you Further on William.
