For his debut album ‘Blue Sky’ available now on Concord, Luke Tyler Shelton took off to the mythic Topanga Canyon and Jonathan Wilson’s studio, to soak up the the scenes which inspired Joni Mitchell, Crosby Nash Stills and Young, and a host of others who all ensconced in the Hollywood hills above LA, Shelton’s hometown. His Pops was reggae, his Mum classic rock and he leans into Peter Green era Mac so he comes from a soulful disposition and it plays across this track, ‘Feeling Always Down.’ - there’s also something of Richard Ashcroft in the vox and longing but mostly the gentleness of Cat Stevens.
