Music at work. The late Gord Downie had recorded an album with the Sadies which at the time included the late Dallas Good. The project was called the Conquering Sun. Fortunate to have seen them live at Boots and Hearts in Bowmanville, mid afternoon!! The Conquering Sun have taken some of those live performances for a new album, ‘Live at 6 O’Clock’ out Feb 27 2026 on Arts & Crafts. It’s an album of covers, Neil Young, Stooges, The Who, Gun Club among them and Fucked Up’s ‘Generation’ which is the first single. This is a tragic day in this country and I turn to music, and this works, on so many levels. Grateful to still have music coming from folks who have passed, folks I have admired - there’s a lesson for us in this moment.
