Margo Price urges ‘Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down’

Will McGuirk June 16, 2025

By Will McGuirk

‘Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down’ , a plucky Dolly Parton plus the Flying Burritos and for some reason the Replacements - with some interesting inspiration according to the PR “While the track’s titular phrase originates from a call for resistance in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Price was most inspired by the message that Kris Kristofferson whispered to Sinéad O’Connor when she was booed on stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert.”

Anyway its a new track from Alt-Country star Margo Price and its some fab outlaw boot skipper. New album Hard Headed Woman is out August 29 2025 on Loma Vista Recordings.
