Oshawa/ Kingston indie rock darlings The Inbreds reforming for one night in Toronto

Will McGuirk June 27, 2016

Kingston two-piece and 90s era indie rock icons The Inbreds are issuing three of their studio albums on vinyl. Kombinator from 1994, 1996’s It’s Sydney Or the Bush and 1998’s Winning Hearts have been remastered and will be available on Label Obscura in September 2016. Pre-orders are been taken now however. The albums come with new liner notes by Vish Khanna of Exclaim magazine and will be limited to 300 of each. Yes please.

The Inbreds were formed in Kingston by Mike O’Neill on bass and Dave Ulrich on drums who first met as high school friends in Oshawa. They released four albums and several EPs during the six years they were together and were influential on Canada’s burgeoning indie scene. In 2007 a tribute album was released on Gooseberry Records. Ulrich also created Zunior.com, an onlineindie music store as an alternative to ITunes.

The two will reform The Inbreds for a one of gig Thursday Sept 29 at the Gladstone Hotel. Tickets are available at Zunior.
