Dizzy are busy recording debut album, they play Hillside in Guelph

Will McGuirk June 27, 2016

Good Ghost don't exist. The four piece indie-tronica band from Oshawa Ont., have changed their name to Dizzy. All to better reflect the new direction they are taking their music says lead vox Katie Munshaw

“Our former name, Good Ghost, was chosen a couple years ago when we were making really different music than we are now. A lot more folky. We’ve now morphed into a more poppy/electronic sounding animal. Finding our sound was a huge step forward for us so we agreed that a new identifier was vital to our new headspace. Dizzy is something we pulled out of thin air.  I wish we had a cool meaning to share with you but alas, the phonetics of it just sounded so dang neat. And it was the first thing all of us could agree on. Its like naming a really loud, four headed child,” says Munshaw.

The band have some gigs coming up including a date at Hillside in Guelph July 22 sharing the stage with Ought and PUP. They are also playing the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto July 29 with Fether.

Dizzy are currently working on their debut album, hoping to finish off by the Fall and set up for an early spring 2017 release.
