Along with their annual juried show currently on at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, the Oshawa Art Association are showing even more of their members' art at their annual art sale held at Camp Samac.
Awards for the juried show were handed out at the exhibition opening on Apr 19 with the Gold Award going to Daryl Thorogood for "Maid of the Mist. The Silver went to Hi Sook Narker for " The Morning Wait" and the Bronze to Norb Lisinski for "Beethoven; A Force of Nature". Several other awards were handed out and happily the work which leapt out to me, Mandy Burdan's "Poolside" received a certificate of recognition. Go see it in person so to speak, it is so much more that first gleaned at first glance.
The Camp Samac show heralds Spring and is a chance to see what the artists have been working on over the winter, this one being particularly long. It takes place Friday Apr 27 through to Sunday Apr 19. The RMG exhibit is on until May 6.
