The Good Family headline Mariposa on Saturday July 9 around Sundown

The Good Family Bruce, (Larry and Margaret plus D’Arcy and The Sadies) headline Saturday at this year’s Mariposa Festival. The Grand Old Dame takes place in Orillia at Tudhope Park July 8, 9 and 10. Rita Coolidge and the Milk Carton Kids are the Friday and Sunday headliners respectively. Among the other performers are Catherine MacLellan, Colin Linden, Shred Kelly, Lori Yates, Fortunate Ones and Ken Whitely and the Beulah Bands. There are scores of artists playing spread over several stages with workshops throughout the day. It is located in one of the prettiest sites for a festival, on a peninsula jutting into Lake Couchiching. There is a camping and it is a very very family friendly festival. I’m sure the Goods would testify to that. Gordon Lightfoot was one of the founders of Mariposa over fifty years ago and the grand old man of folk occasionally shows up.
